To leverage the efficacy of different types of energy storage in improving the frequency of the power grid in the frequency regulation of the power system, we scrutinized the capacity allocation of hybrid energy storage power stations when participating in the frequency regulation of the power grid.
To compensate for the mismatch of generation-load, an advanced energy storage system is proposed in the paper so that the nominal frequency of the power system is maintained. The fast ramping merit of the energy storage system is a feat to give regulation of the frequency.
A regional grid with a TPU and a hybrid ES station is used to validate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy. The results show that the FR resources are stimulated to improve their performance, and thus, the frequency performance of the system is improved by the proposed strategy. S i. d. z SOC. Eb 1.
