Termination is applied by dipping in a paste. Metallization pastes for the ends of the capacitors are a suspension of fine metal powder in an organic binder with the addition of diluents and plasticizers to obtain the required working viscosity of the paste.
The plating process was the final procedure for manufacturing multilayer ceramic capacitor. For the purpose of applying in the surface mounting technology, tin should be covered outside the end-termination. First layer plated is nickel (∼2 μm) at 12 A for 120 min, and plating solution is nickel sulfonate.

The most common design of a ceramic capacitor is the multi layer construction where the capacitor elements are stacked as shown in Figure C2-70, so called MLCC (Multi Layer Ceramic Capacitor). The number of layers has to be limited for reasons of the manufacturing technique. The upper limit amounts at present to over 1000.

4. Conclusions Multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) were made from ZMT′ powder with Ag95–Pd05 internal electrodes, and Ag, Ti/Ag and Cr/Ag thin film were applied as end-termination. In this study, the result of poor adhesion was found for the specimens with sputtered Ag material as the end-termination.
