When there is excess power on the AC bus grid, the inverter battery will supply energy to the DC bus and from the DC bus energy is stored in the battery. When the power fluctuates in the grid, the energy stored by the battery is supplied to the grid from the DC bus using a battery inverter.
Use a cable to connect the positive terminal of the first battery to the positive terminal of the second battery. Use another cable to connect the negative terminals similarly. Attach the inverter’s positive cable to the positive terminal of one of the batteries. Connect the inverter’s negative cable to the negative terminal of the same battery.
To overcome the fluctuation of renewable energy (PV) based generation, an energy storage system using a battery (BESS) can be used. This paper proposes power management with a modified AC coupling configuration, and a BESS coordinated control strategy based on fuzzy logic.
The control strategy proposed by controlling the battery voltage, also used a bidirectional converter to connect the battery to the grid. This method aims to save excess energy on the grid to the battery. However, this method has a weakness, namely the battery energy is not able to serve the load when the system works in island mode.
