In this study, the impacts of PV solar power plants on the environment will be investigated. Some of the most significant environmental impacts of PV solar power plants are related to land use, greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), water consumption, hazardous materials, visual impact, and noise .
However, environmental conditions as well as operation and maintenance of the solar PV cell affect the optimum output and substantially impact the energy conversion efficiency, productivity and lifetime, thus affect the economy of power generation.
This article presents an analysis of recent research on the impact of operational and environmental factors on the performance of solar PV cells. It has been discovered that temperature and humidity, combined with dust allocation and soiling effect, have a significant impact on the performance of PV modules.
The performance of solar PV modules is influenced by a wide range of environmental, operational, and maintenance factors, all of which are thoroughly examined in the current study. The research also offers cutting-edge strategies for lessening the influence of the elements causing the decline in solar PV productivity.
Comparing life cycle stages and proportions of GHG emissions from each stage for PV and coal shows that, for coal-fired power plants, fuel combustion during operation emits the vast majority of GHGs. For PV power plants, the majority of GHG emissions are upstream of operation in materials and module manufacturing.
Land use refers to the amount and type of land occupied by a PV solar power plant, which can affect the natural habitat and biodiversity of the area. Depending on the location, size, and design of the PV power plant, land use impacts can vary significantly.
Environmental Impact of PV Power Systems
Photovoltaic (PV) solar power plants are a promising technology for generating clean and renewable electricity from solar energy. However, like any other power plant, PV solar power plants can have environmental impacts that need to be carefully assessed and mitigated.

The environmental factors affecting solar photovoltaic output
Environmental factors critically affect solar PV performance across diverse climates. High temperatures reduce solar PV efficiency by 0.4–0.5 % per degree Celsius. Dust can reduce PV output by up to 60 %, especially in desert regions. Terrain factors like albedo and snow present mixed effects on PV energy generation.
