Chip pile storage began in the 1950s with the use of wood products residuals as a major source for pulp chips. Storage was required to handle the intermittent flow of chips to the mills. Chip piles were also used to build inventory for periods of the year when wood delivery was low, such as the winter and rainy seasons.
Charging piles, as an important part of the new energy vehicle industry chain, accelerating the construction and improvement of charging pile supporting facilities is crucial for alleviating range anxiety and promoting the deeper popularization of electric vehicles.
The DC charging pile is connected to the grid, and after rectification and boost, it outputs adjustable direct current to charge the power battery. With features such as wide voltage regulation range, high output power, and fast charging speed, DC charging piles have been widely used.
Each charger pile (point) consists of 6 60kW fully SiC-based power converter modules. For isolated charger pile design, high-voltage and high-frequency capabilities of SiC MOSFETs can simplify topologies and controls significantly. The direct benefit is power density improvement and system cost reduction.
Currently, charger pile modules of the state of art design and in volume production almost all use 650V Si MOSFETs in order to get a decent power density and efficiency out. For a design with power over 6 kW, 3-phase input becomes necessary.
